Business Development / Account Manager Agrochemicals

 

Our Multi National client currently has a vacancy due to expansion for a dynamic BDM / Account Manager. This position is based in the western suburbs of Melbourne and is part of the global & regional business team servicing the agricultural market sector throughout Australia, NZ and SEA

The purpose of the position is to develop continuing growth strategy for the agricultural market area in Australia and NZ region.

To implement marketing strategy and business objectives through the application of selling skills and account management principles to a defined key customer group and major accounts throughout ANZ

The role will require interaction with internal team members and customers from different regions and cultures.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a genuine desire to develop their career as a commercial manager and will ideally possess the following attributes:

 

  • Strong professional selling skills.
  • Negotiation and key account management skill.
  • Must have drive, determination and the ability to think outside the box to pursue new business opportunities.
  • Ability to work in cross –functional teams, regionally and globally, and to work with them in overcoming any obstacles:
  • Customer focused with excellent communication and presentation skills:
  • Have the ability to listen to customers and team members and identify their underlying needs and requirements:
  • Must be willing to travel regularly within Australia and New Zealand.
  • Must be willing to work closely with ANZ/SEA Business Manager to further develop the ANZ agricultural chemical market place.  Ability to establish and manage commercial and technical collaborative work with strategic companies.

A tertiary qualification in Science or Business is preferred, but sales experience is essential. 

A background in agronomy would be ideal, as would knowledge of surfactants and field agronomy but is not essential
