This is a pivotal central role offering deep involvement, high responsibility and genuine career satisfaction. The present incumbent is retiring after decades of service and a high-quality replacement is sought. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the role leads and motivates a team of fitters, toolmaker and die maintenance trades. A full portfolio of responsibility covers the technical safety of the site, control of maintenance costs and the contribution of maintenance personnel to company objectives. You will encourage and enforce safe work practices and compliance by all, including contractors, with any relevant legislation, identify training needs and implement them with useful feedback. Other tasks will include maintenance of existing plant and equipment with a view to minimizing downtime, developing, maintaining and monitoring preventative maintenance schedules and you will also be involved in the development and introduction of equipment and services needed for new products.
With a trade qualification and experience in an engineering environment managing a small trades group , you are a hands on leader, focused, confident and results oriented.
